The overarching goal of Dr. Kang-Yi\u2019s research is to improve mental health care for populations with mental health needs. She has over 15 years of experience partnering with publicly funded agencies to identify priorities, critical problems, and questions, examine outcomes of interest, and develop ways to scale effective programs. She has conducted a variety of large-scale effectiveness evaluations of mental health programs. Her current research project, titled DECIDE to Improve Maternal Mental Health Care Delivery, funded through LHS STAR NJ (AHRQ P30HS029759), aims to adapt the DECIDE Provider Training, evidence-based shared decision making practice, to fit perinatal mental health care and evaluate the feasibility of implementing the adapted DECIDE provider training in health systems to improve perinatal mental health care delivery. Dr. Kang-Yi is a Rutgers Learning Health System Scholar and leads the Implementation and Outcome Evaluation Working Group of the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions at Rutgers University. Dr. Kang-Yi received her Ph.D. in social work from Columbia University and her master\u2019s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
