Note: Our A&D intensives are commuter day camps. No on-site housing or meals provided.

  • Our Portfolio track offers intensive full-day courses for artists seeking to hone their skills and expand their technique in a pre-college environment.
  • Our Foundation track is designed for students excited to explore a new skill for the first time. These courses are half-day offerings but can be combined into a full-day experience.

FOUNDATION CLASSES

 

Week 1 | July 6-10, 2026

Drawing (AM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 6 – July 10 | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Camp Fee: $350

This half-day, hands-on art course is designed for middle and high school students who want to develop their drawing skills. The course focuses on foundational techniques in observational and realistic drawing, with an emphasis on building confidence and technical ability. Students will explore basic drawing and shading methods while also having opportunities to experiment with their personal artistic style. Participants will receive helpful feedback from a professional working artist and engage in discussions on contemporary art and art history to deepen their understanding of the creative process.

 

Painting (PM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 6 – July 10 | 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Camp Fee: $350

This half-day, hands-on painting course is designed for middle and high school students who want to build on their painting skills. The course focuses on foundational painting techniques, including color mixing, composition, and observational painting. Students will explore different painting mediums and methods while also having the opportunity to experiment with their own creative expression. Participants will receive constructive feedback from a professional working artist, and discussions on contemporary art and art history will help broaden their understanding of the painting process.

 

Week 2 | July 13-17, 2026

Mobile App Design (AM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 13 – July 17 | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Camp Fee: $350

This half-day course introduces designing and prototyping in Figma, a key tool for creating mobile applications. It begins with an overview of User Experience and User Interface design before diving into the mobile app design process with tutorials, demonstrations, and creative exercises. Each day, students will analyze an existing mobile app and create a related function!

 

Digital Photography (PM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 13 – July 17 | 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

This half-day, hands-on art course is designed for middle and high school students who want to develop their digital photography skills. Week 3 | July 20-24, 2026

Graphic Design for PRINT (AM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 20 – July 24 | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Camp Fee: $350

Graphic design is part of our daily lives in packaging, magazines, social media, and more. This half-day course will introduce you to digital design tools for working with text, imagery, color, and composition to communicate messages. You’ll learn how to express ideas visually in making your own posters and booklets.

 

Graphic Design for WEB (PM) | Foundation (Grades 6-12)
July 20 – July 24 | 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Camp Fee: $350

This half-day course introduces design tools for creating websites and animated GIFs. You’ll learn how to manipulate text, imagery, color, and composition onscreen, with attention to how people interact with these screen elements. A series of short exercises leads to creating your own website on a topic of your choice.

This full-day, intensive course is designed for high school students with prior experience in drawing, who are looking to enhance their portfolio. The course focuses on advanced drawing techniques, with an emphasis on building confidence and technical ability. Participants will receive helpful feedback from a professional working artist and engage in discussions on contemporary art and art history to deepen their understanding of the creative process. Students will refine their technical skills while also experimenting with personal style and creative expression. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio piece that showcases both technical mastery and a unique artistic voice.
