REGISTER<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n **This summer we will be offering extended day options for Commuters<\/strong> wishing to stay for special evening programming. Please note commuters will need to register for these sessions in addition to the commuter registration in the CampDoc portal. Extended day options are as follows:<\/p>\n *Residential tuition includes the cost of living in the Rutgers dorms and three meals a day. Commuter tuition includes daily lunch.<\/span><\/p>\n The Rutgers Summer Jazz Institute<\/strong> is perfect for middle and high school instrumentalists who want to improve their jazz improvisation, as well as their small group and large ensemble skills.<\/p>\n Students participate in daily activities, rehearsals, masterclasses, and special events led by our renowned, award-winning jazz camp faculty. We offer both commuter<\/strong> and residential<\/strong> options for students entering 9th to 12th grades, as well as college first-years. Rising 7th and 8th graders can join as commuters, and commuter lunch will be provided each day<\/span>. The Rutgers Summer Jazz Institute operates on an extended-day schedule, with exciting evening activities including special guest concerts, a BBQ jam session, and more.<\/p>\n Applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience playing an instrument<\/strong>. All necessary music and materials will be provided prior to the camp week.<\/p>\n The first day of camp, Sunday, July 5th, will begin with ensemble placement screenings.<\/span>These screenings assist our faculty in placing students into the appropriate level ensembles and classes according to their individual experience levels. It’s important to note that these placement screenings are not auditions; all registered students will be assigned to ensembles, regardless of their playing ability.
