Students currently enrolled in jazz program ensembles are eligible to request after-hours ensemble spaces for rehearsals and jams. Space administrators approve such requests and are supplied with a list of approved individuals each semester by the jazz program.

Requests are only for the Music Annex (MX) spaces, rooms 002 and 005. These spaces are generally available Thursday through Sunday, 7:00 p.m. and onwards on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends. Space availability is not guaranteed and is subject to school course schedules, which may vary.

Requests can only be made for the current week and cannot be scheduled in advance.

Reservation Requests

To request a desired room and time, please email scheduling@mgsa.rutgers.edu. You will receive a reply from the site administrator stating either approval or rejection of the request.

Room Key Procedure

Upon approval of the room reservation, the student must pick up the keys from the main office no later than Friday at 3 p.m. and promptly return them directly afterward to that office or place them in the key drop-off box.

Terms

The student who is provided a key is held fully accountable and the responsibility cannot be transferred to anyone else. The student must also ensure that rooms are returned to proper condition, the lights are turned off, and the door is locked. Failure to return keys promptly will result in the student’s ineligibility to make further reservation requests. The student also assumes responsibility for all costs of replacing lost keys.
