{"id":524,"date":"2021-02-12T17:18:12","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T17:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/mgsa-music-faculty\/?page_id=524"},"modified":"2025-06-19T18:32:29","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T18:32:29","slug":"room-reservation-info","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/mgsa-music-faculty\/room-reservation-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Room Reservation Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">What are you Reserving the Space For?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General Course Teaching<\/strong>: \u00a0You do not need to reserve a space if you are teaching a general course. \u00a0Your classroom and times will be pre-assigned.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Private Lesson Teaching<\/strong>: You need to contact Jen Guarino directly to reserve semester length studio reservations. <a href=\"mailto:jen.guarino@rutgers.edu\">jen.guarino@rutgers.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chamber Music Coachings<\/strong>: You need to reserve a space for Chamber Music Coachings. \u00a0<em>See below<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Performance or your Student&#8217;s Recital<\/strong>: You need to reserve a space for any Ensemble performance and your private student&#8217;s recitals. \u00a0Programs and advertisements will not be generated until there is a confirmed space. \u00a0<em>See below<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">How to Reserve a Room<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Check <a href=\"https:\/\/artspace.rutgers.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Artspace<\/a> to see the availability of our spaces<\/li>\n<li>Change the date using the calendar icon<\/li>\n<li>Filter by building\/room, and create a reservation by clicking on the date\/time on the grid. Please make sure to leave \u201cParticipants\u201d blank. Nicholas Music Center and Voorhees Chapel are \u201cview only\u201d, please email <a href=\"mailto:scheduling@mgsa.rutgers.edu\">scheduling@mgsa.rutgers.edu<\/a>\u00a0to reserve those spaces for performances\/recitals.<\/li>\n<li>Once your reservation is confirmed via email, pick up a temporary key from the Front Office; note that the Front Office will check that the room has been reserved prior to signing out a key.\n<ol>\n<li>Students are not able to check out keys to performance spaces &#8211; for recitals outside of business hours, the faculty member must check out a key<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Return your key immediately after finishing with your reservation to the Front Office or the key drop box outside the Front Office door.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Notes<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Both students and faculty can reserve spaces, but performances and recitals must be reserved by the private lesson instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Keys can only be given to the person the reservation is under. \u00a0Please do not send students to pick up your keys.\n<ul>\n<li>Students will not receive keys for their recital &#8211; their primary faculty member must check out the key and will be responsible for locking and securing the venue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students can reserve space for their recital <em>rehearsals<\/em>. \u00a0Faculty are responsible for scheduling the recital itself.<\/li>\n<li>Students are <strong>never<\/strong> given a key to Nicholas Music Center for any reason. \u00a0If you are an ensemble director and have access to NMC, you are not to give any student a key to the hall (undergraduate, graduate, or otherwise).<\/li>\n<li>Due to ongoing construction, some studios and classrooms may be temporarily unavailable.
