Guest Artist Recital: Andriy Dragan and Oksana Rapita Duo Piano Recital

Mother and Son present a Duo Piano Recital of Ukranian Music. From the performers: Our program consists of pieces by Ukrainian composers of 19 and 20 centuries. I will be opening the concert with the Variations on an Ukrainian theme by Franz Xaver Mozart, who spent most of his life (approx. 30 years) in our hometown Lviv. Following that we will perform a variety of pieces by composers, who dedicated their life and work to Ukraine and stood up in their own ways against the totalitarian regime. I will gladly say a few words about each of them during the concert. At the end of our program we will perform pieces by Myroslav Skoryk, most well known for his “Melody”, that nowadays became a symbol of Ukrainian sovereignty.
