The Recording Studio is open during the academic school year for reservations! Please see the following policies and procedures for reserving the recording studio.

Studio Policies:
- The Rutgers Recording Studio is available to Music Dept. students, MGSA & all other RU Students, from any campus. We are also happy to welcome anyone in the surrounding community, however there are different payment rates between Music/MGSA students and other patrons.
- Music/MGSA Student Rate: – 2 Hour session (including set-up and break-down) for $80.
- Other Patrons: – 2 Hour session (including set-up and break-down) for $140.
- Additional single-camera video recording (no editing).
- Music/MGSA Students: $120 for 2hr session
- Other Patrons: $180 for 2hr session
- An additional overtime will be $70 an hour.
- You must book a minimum 2-hour block, no single hour bookings.
- The studio is open for reservations Wednesday – Sunday. We will not accept reservations on Mon/Tues.
- The Recording Studio Reservation Form must be submitted a minimum of 7 days prior to the date requested.
- All payments must be in cash or check made out to Rutgers Music Department.
- All payments must be paid in full at the start of the session, to the Music Dept. sound engineer.
- The Recording Studio requests will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
- Only a Music Dept. approved sound engineer is allowed to handle microphones, operate the recording equipment and computer in the engineering room. No outside engineers will be permitted to operate Rutgers Music Dept. equipment – No exceptions. This Music Dept. audio engineer will be assigned to your studio reservation.
- Recording Studio hours are at the discretion and availability of the Recording Studio staff. If the time you have requested is not available, the Recording Studio will reach out to work with you to reschedule.
- There will be a minimal amount of editing/mixing done, unless further coordinated with the recording studio.
- You may request your Pro Tools session files as well!
Video Recording:
- You may bring your own camera equipment or film crew to film your session.
- The studio has one camera for use as a single camera shot. To use this equipment contact the studio manager and coordinate this with your studio session.

- Rutgers recording studio does not provide video-editing services.
How you will receive your recordings?
- Please bring a large format USB hard drive or USB thumb-drive to transfer files after your recording, this is the most efficient way of handing off data.
- The requested files can also be emailed to you using a cloud link after your session. Provide the sessions engineer an appropriate email to send the link to.
