As a life-long inhabitant of the U.S. northeast, Joe is particularly interested in regional marine ecology. During his doctoral research in the Munroe Lab, he studied maternal influences on larval behavior, morphology, and dispersal in blue crabs with a focus on improving our understanding of the species’ early life history in the mid-Atlantic. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center working on the Northeast US Atlantis ecosystem model.
