Alexandria Ambrose is a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate Program of Oceanography within the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences. Her research focuses on understanding habitat provisioning within shellfish aquaculture systems and developing educational tools using real research data. Through field-based experiments and video analysis, she examines how aquaculture farm attributes, such as biological fouling, influence habitat usage on shellfish farms. Her work contributes to understanding how aquaculture can support coastal ecosystems and informs sustainable management practices. In addition to her research, Alex has interest in outreach and marine science education. She has developed educational activities that engage grade school students with real environmental data. She is broadly interested in estuarine ecology, cooperative research, and science education.
