PhD Candidate

Samantha Alaimo is a Ph.D. Candidate in Oceanography. She is interested in how marine species interact with their environment. When a person is looking to buy a house, they consider multiple factors: location, school district, taxes, etc. What factors do marine species consider? What are the driving influences of where they decide to be? Is there a specific water parameter they are seeking? More specifically, she is interested in commercially regulated fisheries as the fishing industry not only provides food to the world but also contributes substantially to the economy. How will changes in the oceans affect them?
