Glenna Dyson-Roberts, from Western Washington University, joined the Munroe lab as a RIOS intern in 2019. Glenna studied how cownose rays utilize intertidal sand flats and interact with oyster farms. She examined their behavior using sonar (DIDSON) recordings and found that the ray behavior was linked to tidal phase and interacted with the diurnal cycle and they could be seen feeding around and beneath oyster farms.
