Hails Tanaka is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology. He started the Rutgers Oceanography PhD program in the fall of 2023, focusing on biological oceanography. His research interests include larval ecology and impacts of climate change on benthic communities and populations.
