Nadja DiMartino, a marine biology major from UC Santa Cruz joined the lab as a RIOS intern in 2017. Nadja learned new skills in crab larval husbandry in order to study whether maternal characteristic like size or weight affect the size or specific morphology of her offspring. The size of a crab zoea can influence how strongly it can swim, or its overall survival.
