Niki Cleary was an undergraduate from Villanova University studying Environmental Science, who joined the Munroe lab during the summer of 2018 as an NSF sponsored RIOS intern. She studied behavior of horseshoe crabs at oyster farms in the Delaware Bay using sonar technology. Her results showed that crabs move among oyster farm structures at the same rate as elsewhere along the Delaware Bay shoreline (check out a video here). Niki presented her results at two national conferences on fisheries and oceanography.
