Draft Conference Agenda

Conference Objectives
The NCRN is a forum for researchers and research stakeholders (e.g., policymakers, credential issuers, and other users of research) to learn from each other, share research findings and early-concept ideas, and connect research with policy and practice. The conference includes four panels oriented towards key issues and debates in the field, plus several stand-alone presentations featuring notable speakers such as Paul Fain (WorkShift), Mitchell Stevens (Stanford University), and Mary Walshok (UC San Diego). There will also be plenty of time for networking – check out our draft agenda for more details!

Venue and Travel
We will be meeting at the City View Room in the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University (7th Floor, 1957 E St. NW, Washington, DC). The venue is an easy walk from many hotels, some of which have negotiated rates that can be used by NCRN attendees. More affordable hotels can sometimes be found in Arlington, VA, a short Metro or Uber ride across the Potomac River from our venue. The venue is also a five minute walk from the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metrorail station, served by the Blue, Silver and Orange lines and offering easy access to DCA airport and the rest of the metropolitan area. Public parking is also available inside the building (enter from 19th St. NW) for a daily fee.
Registration
The generous support of Lumina Foundation will once again allow us to offer this conference to all researchers and stakeholders with a professional interest in non-degree credentialing without charging a registration fee! This is an exceptional opportunity to enjoy a day of learning and networking in the nation’s capital including breakfast, lunch and a reception. Space is limited, so please register today if you plan to attend! All we ask is that you let us know if your attendance plans change by sending an email to Tracy Cangiano (tracy.cangiano@rutgers.edu) so that we can adjust our seating and catering plans accordingly.
Video Recording
We anticipate recording the conference and posting videos of most sessions to YouTube after the event. Unfortunately, staffing limitations prevent us from maintaining a live stream on the day of the conference.
