Necrogeographies of Istanbul (NECRO-IST)<\/strong> seeks to uncover the stories buried within the city\u2019s lost and surviving cemeteries. The project aims to map these burial sites, identify the individuals interred there, and build a publicly accessible archive of their histories.
By tracing the geography of death, NECRO-IST invites us to re-examine Istanbul\u2019s layered past, its collective memory, and the ways in which urban transformation reshapes remembrance.<\/p>\n
