We are delighted to continue our Community Writing Center workshops in 2026. Our Community Writing Center, Newark Writes!, holds bi-monthly workshops on Thursday evenings from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

This Spring we will hold workshops on writing Writing Personal Essays, Getting Started with Fiction, and Starting your Screenplay, to name just a few. Check out our Workshop Calendar for descriptions of our workshops. You can also look at our Archives section for descriptions of past workshops.

Workshops are free of charge and open to all members of the Newark community. All workshops provide hands-on instruction, with time built in for writing and sharing written work. Refreshments are served.
