Daniela Bogantes Salas is a Julia A. Fischelson Intern at the Center for American Women and Politics. She is a rising senior at Rutgers University – Newark majoring in Political Science. She is a first generation college student and an immigrant from Costa Rica. She has interned with the Branch Brook Park Alliance and is currently intern with the Marion P. Thomas Charger School as an Education Intern. She is a member of the Honors Living and Learning Community as well as the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network. Daniela is the founder of Leaders of Ingenuity, Greatness, Healing, and Thought (LIGHT), a student organization focused on providing a safe space for conversation for gender nonbinary and gender nonconforming students. She hopes to make a positive impact on communities of color through civic action and education.
