{"id":594,"date":"2023-06-17T20:48:26","date_gmt":"2023-06-17T20:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/nieuwkoop-lab\/?page_id=594"},"modified":"2023-06-18T20:28:55","modified_gmt":"2023-06-18T20:28:55","slug":"high-field-nmr-facility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/nieuwkoop-lab\/high-field-nmr-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"High Field NMR Facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page-header\"><span style=\"color: inherit;font-size: 2.0736em;font-weight: inherit\">Our Mission<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"com-content-article__body\">\n<h5>Our High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) instruments are located on the Busch campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick with state-of-the-art capabilities for both\u00a0solution state and solid-state NMR, supported by two full time staff members.<\/h5>\n<h5>Our high field spectrometers are ideal for the most complicated and challenging research in the areas of:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Bio-Solution<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0available at 800, 700, and 600 MHz, potential experiments include protein dynamics and structure elucidation and protein-ligand binding<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Bio-Solids:<\/strong>\u00a0on the 800 and 600 MHz spectrometers, fast magic-angle-spinning (MAS) probes allow for solution-like investigations of membrane proteins, aggregates, and large complexes<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Materials:<\/strong>\u00a0in addition to the 800 and 600 MHz NMRs, a dedicated 400 MHz instrument is available for work on solid materials such as concrete, polymers, catalysts, and batteries<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Data can be processed at the spectrometers and retrieved via a dedicated FTP site. With all spectrometers running the same software version, it is easy to switch between them as the need arises.
