Dr. Dever is Professor and Vice-Chair for Faculty Development in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Clinical Chief of Infectious Diseases at University Hospital. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and her Infectious Disease Fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She subsequently completed a Microbiology Research Fellowship at Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Tomasz. Dr. Dever has been a Faculty member at New Jersey Medical School since 1994 and has been actively involved in patient care, education, and clinical research. Her clinical and research interests include the epidemiology and antimicrobial management of orthopedic infections. Dr. Dever is a yoga and exercise enthusiast and avid outdoorswoman enjoying hiking, cross country skiing fly fishing, and snorkeling.
