season<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h4><strong>Overview:<\/strong>\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Small plant bugs that are about the size of fleas and jump around\u00a0 quickly to escape predators\u200b<\/li>\n<li>Usually 1\/8&#8243; long, and typically black with long antennae, wings, and piercing-sucking mouthparts \u200b<\/li>\n<li>Females have shorter wings than males \u200b<\/li>\n<li>Males have white spots\u200b<\/li>\n<li>Overwinter as eggs laid in stems or leaves so that the tip of the egg is on the surface\u00a0 \u200b<\/li>\n<li>Newly hatched nymphs are pale green, becoming darker green as they grow and molt more\u00a0 \u200b<\/li>\n<li>Adults live from 1 to 3 months, and there can be 5 or more generations per year\u200b<\/li>\n<li>Cause pale spots on upper leaf surface and spots of excrement on the lower surface \u200b<\/li>\n<li>Can cause leaves to become chlorotic and drop prematurely\u200b<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"LineBox SCXP222558452
