Slawa Rokicki, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Health Systems and Policy in the Rutgers School of Public Health. Her research focuses on improving reproductive, maternal, and child health, both locally and globally. Dr Rokicki leads the evaluation of the New Jersey Department of Health’s expansion of community health workers. She uses advanced quantitative methods and randomized trials to evaluate the effectiveness of health, social, and economic policies and programs on improving the health of women and children. She is particularly interested in the ways in which social and structural determinants of health impact maternal health inequities across the life course and across generations.
Dr. Rokicki received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park, her M.S. in Global Health and Population from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and her PhD in Health Policy from Harvard University. As part of the Nurture NJ Evaluation Team, she will apply quantitative modeling to examine the impact of Nurture NJ on maternal and infant outcomes.
