If you are in another department, please do not sign up for this training.***<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><b>Student Shop<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Student Shop is available for working on official Physics &amp; Chemistry Department projects. Access to the Student Shop is controlled by key-card. Training is required to be given access to the student shop. Before you are granted access, you will need to take a training session and agree to a set of safety rules. There is a general training session, which covers the basics and also the bandsaw. There are also training sessions for the Lathe and the Milling Machine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Training will be done in three phases:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">General<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Overall machine shop safety and conduct<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shear &amp; brake<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drill press<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Band saws (Vert &amp; Horiz)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Upon completion of the general training, this will give access to the student shop that will be limited to shear, brake, drill press, band saws and hand tools.<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Milling machine<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CNC Milling Machine<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lathe<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.physics.rutgers.edu\/mshop\/sshop\/signup\"><b>Sign up for training session (Rutgers netid required)<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Study Material<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everyone taking the training sessions should read the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/physics.rutgers.edu\/images\/facilities\/Generalmachineshopsafetyrules.pdf\"><b>General Machine Shop Safety Rules<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
