Nos alegramos de que Gabriel Rivera Cotto se haya conectado con el PRAC de nuevo. Gabriel participó en el primer programa de verano del PRAC en 2022 como uno de tres estudiantes doctorales de Yale University, auspiciados por las profesoras Ana Ramos Zayas y Anne Eller. Ese verano, Gabriel trabajó organizando una masiva colección de Fomento Industrial mientras iniciaba su investigación sobre la esclavitud en el siglo XIX.
Ahora Gabriel sigue investigando para su tesis doctoral y va a colaborar con el PRAC organizando estos materiales:
- Oficina del alcalde, fondo municipio de San Juan (secciones no organizadas)
- Otras subsecciones desorganizadas de la colección San Juan
- Presidencia, de la Audiencia Territorial (tarjetero y guía), siglo XIX
- Tarjetero de documentos en España (investigar origen y contenido)
- Tarjetero de documentos Diputación Provincial (investigar origen, contenido y relación con los documentos y guías en PDF existentes)
- Juicios criminales y civiles de Ponce
- Digitalización guía Bayamón de Colección Junghanns
Este trabajo lo coordinará con el archivista Pedro Roig y ayudará a preparar estos materiales para la digitalización en 2025.
We are delighted that Gabriel Rivera Cotto has reconnected with the PRAC. Gabriel participated in our first summer program in 2022 as one of three doctoral students from Yale University, sponsored by professors Ana Ramos Zayas and Anne Eller. That summer, Gabriel worked on organizing a massive collection from Fomento Industrial while beginning his research on 19th-century slavery.
Now Gabriel continues his research for his doctoral thesis and will collaborate with the PRAC in organizing these materials:
- Office of the mayor, San Juan municipality fund (unorganized sections)
- Other unorganized subsections of the San Juan collection
- Presidency of the Territorial Court (card catalog and guide), 19th century
- Card catalog of documents in Spain (investigate origin and content)
- Provincial Diputación document card catalog (investigate origin, content, and relationship to existing PDF documents and guides)
- Criminal and civil trials of Ponce
- Digitalization guide for the Bayamón Junghanns Collection
He will coordinate this work with the archivist Pedro Roig and will help prepare these materials for digitalization in 2025.
