Sofia Feliciano Centeno now serves as the General Manager of R/PRAC. Sofia was the first archival intern we hired during the summer of 2022. She played a crucial role in organizing the Fomento Económico collection at the Archivo General de Puerto Rico with graduate students in the summer program. Later, she shifted her focus to the Junta de Planificación collection. Over the past two years, with support from Rutgers Professors Dinzey Flores and Lauria Santiago, Sofia has diligently created guides for these historically significant materials. We are currently in the process of recruiting a new intern to continue her work, completing the guides and advancing selective digitalization efforts.
In addition to her role at R/PRAC, Sofia also serves as the Program Coordinator at the Centro de Conservación y Restauración de Puerto Rico (CENCOR).
As the Rutgers/PRAC General Manager, Sofia’s responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of our interns’ work, including schedules, productivity, site assignments, and payments. She collaborates with other PRAC participants, including the Advisory Committee, faculty supporters, host site directors, and Rutgers-based staff. Furthermore, Sofia will contribute to shaping the PRAC’s training and mentoring agenda in the coming months.
Sofia holds a master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Management and Museum Studies from the Universitat de Barcelona, as well as a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico.
