Victoria Arredondo and Iulianna Rosario have started working on digitizing narratives of Puerto Rican migration. Profs. Ismael Garcia Colon and Lauria Santiago secured a grant from Arte Publico Press’ Latino Digital Humanities Project to digitize narratives of migration located in AGPR collections. Victoria and Iulianna started with the Department of Labor collections which were organized by other PRAC interns in the last two years. At some point they will move to the Governor papers housed in the “Fortaleza” collection.
Victoria and Iulianna work with a CZUR ET 25 scanner that produces 330DPI images. The images are saved to a cloud server and records are kept of the origin and characteristics of the documents. Copies of the documents will be housed in multiple locations including the coming AGPR servers.
