Work at Archivo General de Puerto Rico and the Coleccion Puertorriquena at the UPR

  • Program Assistants continue to work at both the Archivo General de Puerto Rico and the Coleccion Puertorriquena at the UPR.

At the AGPR Moncia and Sofia continue to make inventories of various collections (will soon start with Junta de Planificacion), while archivist Pedro Roig finalizes the inventory documents.  Collections include Departamento del Trabajo, Comercio y Agricultura, Junta de Estabilizacion Economica, Procurador General, Administracion de Fomento Cooperativo, Autoridad de Tierras, Comision de Servicio Publico and others. Monica will soon be done with the inventory of the internal library of the Banco de Fomento.

All new guides will be released together in a January 2023 event, but if you are interested in these collections please contact Pedro Roig at the AGPR.

At the UPR Jean and Paola, directed by Javier Almeyda have continued digitizing diverse titles including  La Junta (Administracion de Programas Sociales-Depto de Agricultura y Comercio), El Boletin (Mensuario Informativo del Senado), El Estado 49 (Statehood for Puerto Rico), plus dozens of other miscellaneous publications including items on abortion, economic development, the energy grid, and the history of the UPR.  From other sources Prof. Lauria Santiago continues to expand a curated list of public domain publications from the 19th and early 20th centuries. All these items are available on our Digital Library.

At the Biblioteca Lazaro, UPR Jean works with library staff Melanie and Gabriel in microfilming the Revista del Cafe.
