Policy Research In Social determinants of Maternal and child health (PRISM)

PRISM is a research group led by Dr. Slawa Rokicki and Dr. Mark McGovern of the Rutgers School of Public Health. Our group focuses on policy-relevant research that seeks to better understand the ways that social determinants affect maternal and child health across the life course and the impact of social and economic interventions on maternal and child health outcomes.

Our current studies include:

  • Impact of minimum wages on maternal health (NICHD-funded 1R01HD110482)
  • Perinatal depression and postpartum care use (iPHD-funded)
  • Impact of nurse home visiting on uptake of postpartum health care and social services (collaboration with Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health)
