MJ Uzzi

Doctoral candidate

MJ Uzzi (she/her) is a doctoral student at Rutgers School of Public Health in the Health Behavior, Society, and Policy Department. She graduated from Grinnell College in 2023 with degrees in Economics and Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies, and came to Rutgers in the Fall of 2025 after spending two years working in healthcare antitrust consulting. Her primary research interests lie in understanding the effects of economic and socioeconomic factors on maternal and child health outcomes. In addition, she is interested in the impact that hospital policy can have on maternal and child health, as well as the effects of LGBTQ+ health policy on LGBTQ+ parenthood and health outcomes.
