About Us
(Dr. Ramona Ross, PsyD) (Dean Taja-Nia Henderson)
Led by Dr. Ramona Ross, PsyD and Dean Taja-Nia Henderson, the Psychology Professionals of Tomorrow (PPOT) program is a mentorship initiative providing structured support and professional development to students seeking a graduate psychology degree in clinical service delivery. This means you are interested in becoming a therapist.
Applications for the mentorship program are accepted once a year typically during the Spring semester.
Selected students should plan for a 2–3 hour monthly time commitment for program initiatives. We plan to support selected students with the following:
– Understanding the “ins and outs” of graduate Psychology programs
– Identifying prospective graduate programs of interest
– Preparing graduate application personal statement
– Finalizing CV / Resumes for graduate applications
– Preparing for GRE
– Developing a plan for after your graduation from RU-N!
-Learning more about therapeutic service delivery models and schools of thought
-Building a community of professional networks and colleagues

Eligibility:
– Currently a Sophomore or Junior majoring in Psychology (or a psychology-related major, i.e., Cognitive Neuroscience/psych rehab, etc.)
– Psychology GPA: 3.33; Overall GPA: 3.2
– Plan to apply to Clinical Graduate Programs to pursue one of the following:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), School Psychology (MA/PsyD), Clinical Psychology (MA/PsyD), Counseling Psychology (MA/PsyD).
– Dedicated to providing services in underserved communities.
