Exploring the path ahead for strategic research in the context of emerging AI regulations

The NJBDA Research Collaboration Forum 2026 brings together researchers, faculty, practitioners, and institutional partners to explore the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, public policy, regulation, employment, strategy, and technological innovation.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in research, business, government, and society, emerging policies and regulatory frameworks are creating both new challenges and new opportunities. This forum will provide a collaborative environment for discussing how researchers and institutions can navigate these changes while identifying opportunities for interdisciplinary research, innovation, and strategic engagement.

The 2026 Research Collaboration Forum focuses on the evolving policy and regulatory landscape surrounding artificial intelligence and its implications for research, organizations, employment, innovation, and strategic decision-making.

The forum will explore how emerging AI regulations may influence the direction of research and innovation while creating opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and institutions.

  • AI Regulations – Legal and regulatory considerations surrounding AI systems and applications

Research Collaboration

A central objective of the forum is to create opportunities for researchers to connect across disciplines, identify complementary expertise, and develop new research collaborations around artificial intelligence, policy, regulation, data science, and innovation.

Lightning talks and research roundtables will provide participants with opportunities to introduce their work, discover related research activities, and explore potential areas for future collaboration.
