Welcome!
The Rutgers Coastal Communities Adaptation Lab (CCAL) is housed within the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences’ Department of Human Ecology
We seek to identify opportunities for co-producing solutions for climate adaptation among coastal households. Our research efforts are driven by four key objectives:
- Identify how Coastal communities are dealing with and perceive climate related threats in both rural and urban landscapes.
- Work with and support local communities in developing adaptation solutions to environmental change.
- Provide recommendations and transition findings into policy
- Train students in coastal community adaptation and social science techniques to develop a skillset in just and equitable research.
Our key collaborations and partnerships include the Megapolitan Coastal Transformation Hub (MACH) and the Rutgers Climate and Energy Institute (RCEI.
