We have a new preprint out on medRxiv, titled “The clinical phenotype of autism spectrum disorder in individuals with 3q29 deletion syndrome”! In this paper we analyzed data from the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, two gold-standard autism evaluations, from a cohort of individuals with 3q29 deletion syndrome. We also compared the data from our study subjects with 3q29 deletion syndrome to publicly available data from individuals with non-syndromic autism and typically developing comparators. We found that individuals with 3q29 deletion syndrome that don’t have a diagnosis of autism have significantly more social disability than typically developing comparators, highlighting the critical role of early intervention and social skills training for all individuals with 3q29 deletion syndrome.
