Mahjabeen graduated from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2016 with a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning and from the Independent University, Bangladesh in 2019 with an M.S. in Climate Change Science and Development. She is now a graduate student in Atmospheric Science at Rutgers, and is working in the RISCI lab. Before coming to Rutgers, she worked as climate change researcher and development professional for 5 years at several international organizations like BRAC, ICCCAD and IRRI-CGIAR in Bangladesh. Previously, she worked on climate-resilient agriculture, human-climate interactions, food security and SDGs. She is now interested in conducting research on UV impacts on crop yields, stratospheric aerosol interventions and nuclear war.
