The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program offers two Masters degrees: a primarily course-work based, Masters of Engineering (MEng) and a research-based Masters of Science (MS). Both degrees currently require completion of 33 credits. The MEng includes a minimum of 30 credit-hours of coursework and 3 credit-hours of independent study. The MS requires 30 credit-hours of coursework and 6 credit-hours of research, as well as preparation and defense of a Masters thesis. A certificate in Medical Device Design and Development can be completed with either degree, and student can easily more from the MS track to the PhD track.
