It contains many mandatory items you need to accomplish before <strong>MAY 15th, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"font_7\"><strong>Activate your Rutgers Account\u00a0<span class=\"color_33\">(ASAP)<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\"font_7\">All RWJMS students need create an account with Rutgers University, even if you were previously an RU student from a different program. Each student has two key identifiers: a NetID and a Student ID #. You will need these to apply for financial aid and access resources like the my.rutgers.edu portal, email and Physicianship Summer Assignment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><strong>STUDENT ID NUMBER\/ &#8220;A&#8221; NUMBER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">Every student was given an identification number (&#8220;A&#8221; number), which will be your primary identifier at the University. You should have\u00a0received\u00a0this &#8220;A&#8221; number from Admissions. Alternatively, you can find your &#8220;A&#8221; number on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/my.rutgers.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rutgers Portal\u00a0<\/a>(this requires an activated NetID to log in).<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_7\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_7\">Note: If you do not have your &#8220;A&#8221; number, please contact RWJMS\u00a0Admissions at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rwjapadm@rwjms.rutgers.edu%20?subject=Final%20Official%20Transcript\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">rwjapadm@rwjms.rutgers.edu<\/a>.\u00a0<span class=\"color_14\">Do not contact the Registrar.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><strong>NETID ACTIVATION:<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease activate your computer accounts using the instructions below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Go to the secure site at \u2018netid.rutgers.edu\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/netid.rutgers.edu\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/netid.rutgers.edu\/index.htm<\/a>\u00a0and select \u2018NetID Activation\u2019.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font_7\">This page will prompt you to give:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Full name<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">the last four digits of your \u201cA\u201d number (e.x. A########). <strong>Do not use your Social Security Number.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Date of birth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">On the next screen, create a password and enter it again to confirm it and click CONTINUE.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Select and answer three security questions and click CONTINUE.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Pick a Rutgers email address (e.g., <a href=\"mailto:firstname.lastname@rutgers.edu\" data-auto-recognition=\"true\">firstname.lastname@rutgers.edu<\/a>). Your actual address will depend on which school you are enrolled in. Click USE THIS ADDRESS. This is not your username; it is only an email address.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Finally, you will receive your NetID (also known as your \u2018username\u2019). Record and remember this \u2013 you will use it to log on to the various services.\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><em>What if I am having a problem accessing my NetID?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">Please contact RWJMS\u00a0Admissions at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rwjapadm@rwjms.rutgers.edu%20?subject=Final%20Official%20Transcript\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">rwjapadm@rwjms.rutgers.edu<\/a>.\u00a0<span class=\"color_14\">Do not contact the Registrar. Sometimes there are technical issues that require some patience and extra steps, it is ok! You will still be able to complete your Summer Assignments and try your best to complete the other requirements to the best of your ability while waiting for a solution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><strong>DUO MOBILE ACTIVATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">You will be prompted to create a Duo Mobile account to set up a Two-Step Log in when you use your NetID. Instructions to Step up Duo Two-Step Verification can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/it.rutgers.edu\/two-step-login\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><strong><span class=\"color_15\">RWJMS OUTLOOK EMAIL ACCESS\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">Once you activated your NetID, you will also receive access to an Outlook Email account (<a href=\"mailto:NetID@rwjms.rutgers.edu\" data-auto-recognition=\"true\">NetID@rwjms.rutgers.edu<\/a>) which will be the primary point of contact during your time at medical school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">How to access the Outlook Email on a web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Safari)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">Go to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.live.com\/owa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/outlook.live.com\/owa\/<\/a>\u00a0<span class=\"color_15\">and click &#8220;Sign In&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">Type in your email using the format: <a href=\"mailto:NetID@rwjms.rutgers.edu\" data-auto-recognition=\"true\">NetID@rwjms.rutgers.edu<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">You will prompted to sign in using your NetID and Password via the Rutgers Log In platform. Verify with Duo Mobile Two-Factor Security.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\">Email homepage should be displayed. Return to Outlook to check emails as needed!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"color_15\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"color_15\">This email will not be used to contact you\u00a0BEFORE\u00a0Orientation, so please continue to check the email you provided to Admissions for updates. You will receive more guidance about how to set up the Outlook App on your iPad and mobile devices during Orientation, since it requires more security steps. Do not attempt to open email via the Outlook App for now, please only use the web browser.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"font_7\"><strong>Student ID Photo Card\u00a0<span class=\"color_33\">(Due MAY 15th, 2026)<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\"font_7\">After activating your NetID and Rutgers email address, you need to upload a RWJMS photo ID card in two locations.\u00a0<strong>This is due by May 15th to ensure you will receive your ID card during orientation week. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Take a photo following the Rutgers Photo Criteria<\/li>\n<li><strong>DO NOT UPLOAD PHOTO ID UNTIL YOUR NETID IS OBTAINED<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>IMPORTANT: All photos must be named in the following way:<\/strong><\/span> LastName_FirstName_NetID (must be .jpeg or .png. file) Ex: Doe_John_abc123.jpeg<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Upload your Photo ID to<a href=\"https:\/\/ipo.rutgers.edu\/publicsafety\/iam\/online-photo-submission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0Rutgers IT Website<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\">Upload your Photo ID to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutgersconnect.sharepoint.com\/:f:\/s\/rwjms-rwjms_studentaffairs\/IgBzu0lYvXOSRKcr1W2E5dQ5AWtncy2-AjTe2sy6PNlgMeI\">RWJMS OneDrive<\/a> (Note: Folder may be mislabelled as 2028 but it is the correct folder for 2029)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"font_7\">You will receive an email from Rutgers IT once your photo is approved.
