{"id":523,"date":"2020-12-16T19:11:54","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T19:11:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/sasn-appliedphysics\/?page_id=523"},"modified":"2026-03-27T17:53:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T17:53:29","slug":"physics-education-track","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/sasn-appliedphysics\/ms-tracks\/physics-education-track\/","title":{"rendered":"Physics Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Physics Education Track involves taking a minimum of 30 degree credits (600 or 700 level):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6-credit thesis or a 3-credit research project<\/li>\n<li>9 credits of required (core) courses<\/li>\n<li>3 credits of mathematical physics or applied mathematics<\/li>\n<li>6 credits of required Education courses<\/li>\n<li>the remaining credits are to be filled with elective courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To graduate with a 6-credit &#8220;thesis&#8221; research project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure to have earned 24 class credits and 6 MSc project credits with &#8220;S&#8221; grade. Write a 10-15 page MSc thesis on the work done as part of the 6-credit project. The report should be organized in the form of a scientific paper with section headers: Introduction, Methods\/Computational Details, Results, Discussion and Conclusions. Submit the MSc thesis to the graduate coordinator at least 10 days prior to the defense deadline. No formal defense is required for MSc theses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To graduate with a 3-credit &#8220;project&#8221; research project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure to have earned 27 class credits and 3 MSc project credits with &#8220;S&#8221; grade.
