SCARLET is the central engine driving the future of healthcare simulation at Rutgers Health. We build strategic partnerships across our schools and clinical affiliates to provide innovative, interprofessional education and foster high-impact research.

Our mission is to enhance patient safety and healthcare team performance, creating a collaborative environment where education and technology converge to shape the next generation of healthcare leaders.

SCARLET was initiated in partnership between the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and the Rutgers School of Health Professions during the pandemic to share resources and expertise in the development of simulation-based learning experiences (SBLE) used in the education of pharmacy students, medical students, physician assistant students, and medical residents. Now also involving the Rutgers School of Nursing and numerous other health professions programs, SCARLET serves as the catalyst for innovation and interprofessional education with simulation-based immersive learning environments and technology.
