Les has been the inaugural director at Rutgers University’s Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy Simulation Technology Program since 2018, managing the operational aspects of the 14,000 square foot simulation center at the School of Pharmacy and co-chair of the Rutgers Health HEALS Simulation Working Group. With almost 30 years of experience in emergency services, particularly in pre-hospital mobile healthcare and firefighting, he is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. His research focuses on enhancing professional identity formation in healthcare learners and elevating patient safety within teams through the design of learning environments using simulation techniques.
Liza Barbarello Andrews, PharmD, BCCCP, BCPS, CHSE
Clinical Professor & Pharmacy Curriculum Simulation Director
Dr. Liza Barbarello Andrews is a board-certified critical care pharmacist (BCCCP) and pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS) who is a Clinical Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP) with a clinical practice at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton. Liza is a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) who serves as the clinical director for simulation at EMSOP and is currently in her second term as the chair of the Pharmacy Special Interest Group for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Dr. Barbarello Andrews has earned many awards and distinguished highlights both for her initiatives advancing pharmacy practice and for her novel use of simulation in pharmacy education.
