Dr. Shapiro see patients in his clinic on most Thursdays and Fridays (and occasionally on other days of the week) on the 11th floor of the Ambulatory Medical Pavilion (AMP) at 210 Somerset St, located in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences offices in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Shapiro sees patients only with problems related to the ear and brain/base of skull. Though a formal referral is not required, patients must have been seen previously or referred by another medical specialist (such as another ENT physician, pediatrician, audiologist, or neurosurgeon) to be scheduled. This is required to minimize wait times for those in need of this type of specialized care, as there are few doctors trained in this skill set. Primary care referrals are not accepted for adults, and patients without the appropriate referral may be directed to a less specialized (though no less competent) ENT doctor in the area.

He performs surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Bristol-Meyers Squibb Children’s Hospital. He is part of both Rutgers Health and RWJBarnabas Health Systems.

He takes all major insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid.
