Overview

The field of Several Complex Variables and Complex Geometry has experienced remarkable advances in recent years,
marked by strong and fruitful interactions with other areas of mathematics. This progress is reflected in the ICM 2026
program, which features one plenary speaker and several invited speakers in the broadly interpreted area of SCV and
Complex Geometry: Ngaiming Mok (plenary); Franc Forstneric (invited), Valentino Tosatti (invited), David Witt-Nystrom
(invited), Junyi Xie (invited). All the 2026 ICM plenary and invited speakers just mentioned have tentatively confirmed
their participation and agreed to give talks at our conference. However, the scope of significant developments in the
field extends well beyond what is represented in the ICM 2026 program. This conference features a distinguished group
of international organizers with very diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. The invitees include many world-class
mathematicians as well as junior researchers with a very wide range of interests. Our conference will provide an excellent
platform to witness a much broader scientific event that highlights many other recent exciting advances in the field.

At the same time, following more than a century of development, the subject has evolved to encompass a diverse array of
methods from distinct areas of mathematics as mentioned earlier. This broad spectrum of techniques and interactions poses
challenges for researchers aiming to stay abreast of current progress, especially for young scholars who are just
entering the field. In recent years, these challenges have become even more pronounced as the methods and tools continue
to grow in sophistication. This conference will take advantage of the 2026 ICM in Philadelphia by bringing together many
world leaders working on a wide variety of problems in the field, alongside researchers of all career stages, including
many young scholars, to Rutgers. This conference will particularly benefit researchers in the USA, especially young
scholars, as it provides a special and a very convenient opportunity to engage academically with numerous world leaders
and their fellow researchers.
