About SNAP Gap Project

Rutgers Cooperative Extension, in collaboration with the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate (OFSA), will continue and expand an exploratory study to assess barriers to signing up for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) among families participating in free and reduced school meals. To build upon knowledge gained in the previous year’s research, this year’s project will also include experimental activities to support promotion of SNAP in schools and reduce barriers of enrollment.
