About Us
Our day-long event for NJ high school students will include Spanish, Portuguese, and Latinx poetry recitation competitions, as well as student-written monologue or poetry recitation in the target languages. We will also have talks on culture and language, and opportunities to tour campus. The list of poetry for recitation and guidelines for the student-written monologues or poetry for live performance will be available in January 2025.
The Festival is funded by a Chancellor’s Impact Seed Grant Award. Attendance is free but registration is required.
Registration for SOMOS 2025 will open in Fall 2024.
