About Us
Our day-long event includes readings by New Jersey poets, musical performances, presentations by humanities scholars and practitioners, and a collaborative poetry installation. We will also have opportunities for high-school attendees to recite poetry, share original work, and tour campus. This event is open to all and attendance is free.
Registration for high school teachers and students for SOMOS 2025 is now open! The list of poetry for recitation and guidelines for the student-written monologues or poetry for live performance will be available in January 2025.
The SOMOS NJ Poetry & Culture Festival is made possible by funds and support from Rutgers University, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, Library of America, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and Emerson Collective. Attendance is free but registration is required.
Registration for high school teachers for SOMOS 2025 is now open. General registration will open on March 1, 2025.
