Just about to leave. Everyone here.

We all arrived on time, eager to start our “Tale of Two Uprisings,” embedded field experience. The fight to Frankfurt was relatively uneventful, BUT our layover time was too short and, arriving late, we missed our connecting flight to Krakow. [note to self: do not accept an itinerary with a layover in Frankfurt that is less than 2.5 hours: the airport is too massive to ensure a transfer]. Unfortunately, there were no available flights to Krakow from Frankfurt that day, although the various airline employees (United and Lufthansa) were not completely upfront about that reality, which necessitated sprinting through the massive airport to try to make planes that did not have room. We almost lost a backpack in the process, but, very happily, we found an extraordinary United employee who not only booked us for an airport hotel, meal vouchers, and a Wednesday a.m. flight to Krakow, but also located the missing item. Sweaty and relieved we made our way to a lovely airport hotel and were able to start the trip, albeit in Germany, not in Poland (once again, hint-hint, geopolitics render Poland passive: kidding!).
