VOICE Program 2021
After pilot testing the virtual curriculum in 2020, we used feedback from community stakeholders to develop animated educational videos. The animated educational videos covered topics such as:
- Gun violence prevention introduction
- Effects of gun violence
- Gun safety planning and crisis management
- Gun violence intervention programs
- Gangs and gun violence exposure
- Role of depression in gun violence
- Substance abuse and drug use
- Intimate partner violence (IPV)
We also developed evaluation surveys to complete before and after viewing each educational video. These surveys affirmed respondent education throughout the curriculum reflected by contemporary literature. We pilot-tested this curriculum with peer and Newark community members and reached 110+ responses.
