href=\"#funding\">Project Funding Source<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"background\" align=\"left\"><strong>Background:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For Phase 2 of the Kirkwood-Cohansey William Penn Cluster Initiative, the focus areas have been refined, thereby reducing the size of the proposed management area.\u00a0 The refined focus areas (also known as priority catchments) include portions of 32 municipalities in the Lower Delaware River Watershed.\u00a0 As part of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/water-resources-program\/projects-and-programs\/william-penn\/\">Phase 1<\/a>, Rutgers developed impervious cover assessments (ICAs), impervious cover reduction actions plans (RAPs), and green infrastructure feasibility studies for 12 of these 32 municipalities.\u00a0 Each plan identified 10 to 15 sites where green infrastructure can be installed to reduce the impact of stormwater runoff on the Delaware River and its tributaries as well as promote groundwater recharge to the Kirkwood-Cohansey Aquifer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"location\"><strong>Project Location:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-923\" href=\"#top\">Top of Page<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"description\" align=\"left\"><strong>Project Description<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Objective 1:<\/strong>\u00a0For Phase 2, the first objective that Rutgers proposes is to prepare ICAs, RAPs, and green infrastructure feasibility studies for the 20 remaining municipalities in the refined focus areas.\u00a0 For each of these studies, 10 to 15 green infrastructure sites will be identified in each municipality.\u00a0 The majority of the sites identified will be in the priority catchment areas within each municipality.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\n<h4><strong><u><em>The RCE Water Resources Program will<\/em><\/u><em>:<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Prepare impervious cover assessments (ICAs), impervious cover reduction action plans (RAPs), and green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) feasibility studies for six municipalities in the Upper Salem focus area, four municipalities in the Lower Salem focus area, six municipalities in the Cohansey focus area, three municipalities in the Muddy Run focus area, three municipalities in the Menantico focus area, and four municipalities in the Rancocas focus area.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Objective 2:<\/strong>\u00a0The second objective is to identify additional sites in the 12 municipalities that have been completed in Phase 1.\u00a0 These newly identified sites will be in the priority catchment areas of these 12 municipalities.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\n<h4><strong><u><em>The RCE Water Resources Program will<\/em><\/u><em>:<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Enhance existing ICAs, RAPs, and GSI feasibilities studies for one municipality in the Upper Salem focus area, two municipalities in the Lower Salem focus area, three municipalities in the Cohansey focus area, four municipalities in the Muddy Run focus area, one municipality in the Menantico focus area, and three municipalities in the Rancocas focus area by incorporating additional potential green infrastructure project sites into the plans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Objective 3:<\/strong>\u00a0The third objective is to prepare designs for 15 to 20 green infrastructure projects in the priority catchment areas.\u00a0 The development of these designs will be coordinated with the other cluster partners to ensure the installation of as many projects as possible.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\n<h4><strong><u><em>The RCE Water Resources Program will<\/em><\/u><em>:<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Work with cluster partners to identify 20 locations and develop green infrastructure designs.\u00a0 The goal is to identify three projects in the Upper Salem focus area, three projects in the Lower Salem focus area, five projects in the Cohansey focus area, three projects in the Muddy Run focus area, two projects in the Menantico focus area, and four projects in the Rancocas focus area.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Objective 4:<\/strong>\u00a0The last objective is to work with the cluster partners to educate government officials on the importance of green infrastructure and work with these groups to install green infrastructure projects by leveraging other funding resources and local in-kind contributions.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\n<h4><strong><u><em>The RCE Water Resources Program will<\/em><\/u><em>:<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Partner with ANJEC and PPA to identify funding sources for the installation of a minimum of 4.78 acres of green stormwater infrastructure in the Rancocas focus area.<\/p>\n<p>Partner with the cluster partners to identify funding sources for the installation of a minimum of 4.25 acres of green infrastructure in the Lower Salem focus area, 0.25 acres in the Upper Salem focus area, 6.25 acres in the Cohansey focus area, 3.55 acres in the Muddy Run focus area, and 1.25 acres in the Menantico focus area.<\/p>\n<p>Work with cluster partners to deliver presentations for municipal officials in all the focus areas on green infrastructure, stormwater, and landscaping.<\/p>\n<p>Work with the cluster partners to engage all 40 municipalities in the focus areas to incorporate green stormwater infrastructure into their site plan application review and stormwater plan reviews and improve enforcement of existing stormwater regulations.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with ANJEC and PPA, educate Hammonton officials about green infrastructure opportunities identified in green infrastructure feasibility study through two workshops\/presentations.<\/p>\n<p>Work directly with municipalities to help them get projects in the ground and continue to support our partners\u2019 efforts to do the same.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"right\"><a href=\"#top\">Top of Page<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"deliverables\" align=\"left\"><strong><br \/>\nProject
