Recording a Webex meeting

Currently, the storage space for recordings in the cloud is 25GB. You can record as many meetings or classes as needed within this capacity limit; however, all recordings have a 3 year retention before they are deleted automatically.

  1. While in the meeting, select Record.
  2. If using a Windows device, a dialog box will appear and ask if you want to save the recording in the cloud on on your computer.
    • If you chose to record on your computer: select Accept, if prompted, to agree to your organization’s privacy and security guidelines. Then choose a location to save the recording, and click Save.
    • NOTE: You can only record on your computer if you use the Call Using Computer option for audio.
  3. While recording, you can press Record to do one of the following:
    • Select Pause and Resume to maintain a single recording, but to stop and resume the recording as necessary.
    • Select Stop to end your current recording.
  4. If you recorded in the cloud, when the meeting or event ends, you receive an email with the recording link. Depending on file size and bandwidth, it can take up to 24 hours to receive your recording.
  5. To view/access your recordings, log on to Webex, and select Recordings on the left-hand side menu.
  6. After making a recording, you can disable the ability for it to be downloaded by navigating to Webex > Recordings > My Recordings. Select the recording to edit then press Modify Recording > check off Prevent downloading.
