Webex Shared Account Basics


What is a shared Webex account?

A shared Webex account allows multiple users to access and manage an account. These accounts are not associated with an individual's NetID, however, multiple delegates can be set for the account. Delegates can schedule, host and record meetings using a shared account. Please note that shared accounts cannot attend a meeting as an attendee. 

How can I get a shared Webex account?

All shared Webex accounts need to be associated with a service account in Rutgers Connect. 

You can ask your Rutgers Connect Delegated Administrator to activate a shared Webex account for an existing service account or they can make you a new service account with a shared Webex account attached. 

What does it mean to be a delegate on a shared Webex account?

If you are not a Rutgers Connect Delegated Administrator, you can still access the information for the shared Webex account by becoming a delegate for the account. A delegate for a Webex account can host and schedule meetings for the shared account. You can schedule meetings by logging into the service account's Webex and schedule a meeting as the account. 

How can I access recordings on a shared account?

Log into the shared Webex service account to act as the account and access the recordings. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours before new recordings are available from Webex.
