Blake McGowan

Flies become like specks of dust
When filtered through the sunlight.

Nearly formless and completely senseless
They are reduced to inanimate,
Rejected from our world of the tangible
And accepted into a realm of the unseen.

Our minds are too complex
To understand spiritual simplicities.

Before I can realize that you have gone
I will need to inspect your body,
If your tired eyes are no longer yours
Then I will know, the world is empty.

The world was full of you, and now
Is empty.
